Weather in Dublin

Weather in Dublin is crap. Well, it depends on where you are coming from. Summers are mild, with the temperature almost never rising above 22 Celsius, while in the winter it never drops below -5 Celsius. It almost never snows here, aside from a freak “snow storm” that leaves a cm of snow on the ground and shuts the whole country down.

Dublin is famous for its mild weather and plenty of rainfall. The main tip is to always carry a small umbrella in your bag, even if no rain is forecasted. Another tip is to never trust the weatherman. It seems that Dublin has a multitude of weather zones with different weather in each at one point in time. Another feature is that on some days the weather may change every 15 minutes – rain for 10 minutes, then sun, then cloud, then sun, then rain, then… you get the idea. The best solution for this is to dress in layers and either have an umbrella or a rain jacket.
